How SYP Investigation Centre handles your data.
Files you analyse
Image, video, document, chat-export and hash tools run entirely inside your web browser. Your files are not uploaded to or stored on our server. The optional Evidence Tray keeps files in your own browser's storage until you clear it.
Online lookups
The URL Analyzer, Domain / IP / WHOIS Lookup and Crypto Wallet Identifier send the value you enter (a link, domain, IP address or wallet address) to our server, which queries public sources on your behalf. Results may be cached briefly to reduce load. We do not link these queries to your identity except for rate-limiting and security.
Accounts
Registered accounts are created by the administrator. We store your name, e-mail, organisation, a secure one-way hash of your password, sign-in times and IP addresses for security auditing.
Cookies
We use one essential session cookie for security and sign-in, and one cookie to remember that you accepted the disclaimer. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
Usage statistics
We count how often each tool is opened and used (daily totals only, without personal data) to improve the service.
Third-party resources
Some program libraries, AI models, fonts and map tiles are loaded from public content delivery networks (jsDelivr, Google Fonts, OpenStreetMap). These providers can see your IP address when your browser requests them.
